Launch of Association- 26th January 2012

Dear All,

‘It is a dream come true for me’ said the most ever admired faculty of XISS, Prof Anup Sarkar on the launch of D’PAX (Development Professional Association-XISS). It became a nostalgic environment as more than 40 alumni from in and out of Bihar assembled in the auditorium of Bihar Voluntary Health Association (BVHA) on 26th January, the day India went Republic.

Appreciations from many corners poured in as many can not make it to attend. The present HoD- RD Prof MH Ansari sent his message conveying his best wishes to the association.

The day started with informal interactions while waiting for most of the people to come. Finally, the programme started with a welcome by Swapan Mazumdar, representative of the host organization (BVHA) and it was followed by a short introduction of each one. Later the name of the Association was unveiled by Prof Sarkar. He also inaugurated the official website of D’PAX, which is sponsored by Safal Solutions Pvt. Ltd. and developed by Vikash Kumar Sahu. (can be viewed at www.dpax.org)

A short presentation summarizing the thoughts behind registering the association was made by Shailesh K. Singh (attached). Taking the discussion forward Asish Biswas deliberated on his experiences and the requirements from our end in order to take it forward.

Prof Sarkar in his addressed re-emphasized on the need of such an association and the opportunities ahead. He also cautioned about the pitfalls in this path. He congratulated the alumni members and advised to take a pledge, if they want to take this effort forward.  Thereafter the suggestions from other members came in to make this effort well meaning, strong, useful, and sustainable and so on.

A working governing body has been nominated to take this process forward till an elected body takes over.

The discussions in small, smaller and smallest groups continued with a very delicious vegetarian food.
The support for organizing this event came from all corners however; Vikash, Apollo, Prerna, Archana, Parimal and Rashmi did an extra bit to make this a success and therefore they need additional congratulations!

Regular encouraging and guiding mails from Pranav Mishra added ghee to the motivation fire which also helped to lighten the event.

With this, I request the other participants to add on if I have missed anything. The list of participants is also attached if you wish to know.

Best regards,
Shailesh
